Lately...

Coulton and I had enough in Alaska, sooooo....we moved home...to UTAH!! Just in time for the best vacation ever. No exaggeration either. Lake Powell has always been my most favorite place to visit growing up, so I was beyond stoked to bring Coulton along. This was his first time, and it sure didn't disappoint! We had a BLAST! Everyone got to know each other real quick because there were probably 30 of us crammed onto our houseboat, but that's what made it so much fun! I love spending time with my family. I love that we can carry this tradition on to our own kids. I can't wait until my kids and their cousins all go to Powell together. It's going to be the greatest time.

After powell, Coulton had to go to California to finish out his summer sales. While he was there he was able to stay with his Grandparents in Napa Valley. I'm so grateful for them. They helped us so much and took great care of Coult. He was able to care for his sick Grandpa too, which was a huge blessing to them, and a great bonding experience. I lucked out with the best inlaws ever. The Main family is amazing. I was able to go out and spend some time with them and I loved every ounce.

Currently we are staying at my parents house trying to get our feet under us. I am working for Rachel. She started her own clothing line called Rachel and Groms, and it has skyrocketed into SUCCESS! It's been so much fun being a part of and watching it grow. I'm so excited to see how it turns out. I have a feeling it is going to get HUGE! Coulton is currently starting is own car wrapping company. He's also looking for other work in the Sales department. We have been so blessed with everything that I'm sure he is going to find something he loves.

The summer was hard. Not gonna lie. The best part of the summer was getting to know Dakotah and converting him to the church. When I first met him (I choke up talking about this) I thought to myself, this kid is something special. I felt like I was going to have some kind of impact on his life. Pretty crazy thought. As we got to know him better, he and I bonded really well. He would share so many things with me about his personal life that I know he wouldn't share with others. He has been through so much. It was great seeing Coulton play a huge role in getting him baptized. Coulton has such a strong testimony (which he doesn't share often) and it was so cool to see him share that with Dakotah.  Dakotah ended up moving here to Utah and he is so happy. It's times like those that remind me of what is truly important in this life. I love how the Gospel brings me back to that. Such a great reminder.

So glad we are out of that stage in our journey. I am so excited for whats to come for us. It's been so much fun going on so many adventures with my soulmate. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

The 'Rents!

My parents came to visit Coulton and I here in Alaska and it's been so much fun so far! We took a scenic drive a couple times, went to the Farmer's Market, then went out to sea to take a look at some amazing glaciers. It's pretty spectacular being able to be so close to these huge ice formations and hear them crack and crash into the water as giant pieces break off. So much freaking fun! I'm so grateful that my family was able to come out here and see where I've been living these past 4 months. Who knows if we will ever come back here....probably never :) anyway, here are some pics!

This is us eating where I work. Delicious!

Mom and dad enjoying the glacier cruise

Dang. I love this guy!

The glacier wall goes all the way to the bottom of the ocean. I thought that was insane! The ice is the brightest shade of blue, so pretty.

Eatin some grub at the Farmer's Market

We put some pennies on the train tracks right by where my parents are staying...look below to see what happened to them.

Sunday Funday!

So this last Sunday, it was a gorgeous day! It's been raining a lot here in Anchorage, which has really sucked, but Sunday and all this week has seriously been the most beautiful weather! We had to do something special on both mine and Coulton's day off, and what better activity than to ride bikes along the coast?! That is exactly what we did, and it...was...AWESOME! We went with my cousin Breanna her husband Derrick and their 2 girls Khloe and Shelby. We also brought along Annie and her husband BJ and their 2 kids Myla and Tyce. Best group of people EVER! Here are some pictures of that great adventure.

PS Coulton and I rode a tandem, greatest idea yet.

Update

So...Alaska...is...BEAUTIFUL!! I have really been enjoying my time here in the amazing state of Alaska. There is so much to explore, and I haven't even scraped the surface yet!

Coulton has been really busy working, so for the first month, I was just hangin out and enjoying the scenery and the different sites. There are some really cool spots that you would literally only see in books, unless you visited here of course. The views are literally breath-taking. You feel like you are looking at a painting. It's pretty unreal.

Being home all the time alone and trying to find things to do to keep me busy, took its toll on me, and I started to get bored/homesick/depressed. So, I decided, it would probably be best if I started working. For one, it would really help Coulton's stress level go down knowing that he isn't the only source of our income, also it would give me a sense of socialization. As I was thinking of places I wanted to work, I thought of this amazing restaurant Coulton and I drove past the first day we got here. It has the most beautiful architecture and style. We went to eat there for my birthday, and I really fell in love with the experience I had there. It's not like anything you would ever see/experience. It's modern, yet has this old feel to it. It's kind of, in a way, magical. I HAD TO WORK THERE! The next couple days I was busy getting my resume put together and filling out the application. I turned it in, got an interview, and was offered the job that day! So amazing! Such a blessing!

Since then, I have really enjoyed my job, meeting new people/the locals, and having fun with the rest of the girls that FINALLY arrived. They are some of the other wives who's husbands also work with vivint. It's made this whole experience a lot easier to handle. This will be a summer I'll never forget, and one to tell the kids someday for sure :)

my second cousin shelby, so freakin cute!

oh just a brown bear, no big deal.

lots of elk.

ran/walked a 5k with this genius. Isn't Breanna pretty? we had so much fun.

It's Been a Year...

...and what a year it was! I can't believe Coulton and I have been married a year already! It's been one of the funnest years of my life, to be completely honest. We have had so many amazing adventures and changes just within this year, it's been kind of crazy. But we have been so extremely blessed.

Quick update: We are currently in Alaska, I know I know, you thought we were in Florida! Well, we were, but we felt it would be best if we moved to Utah and live closer to my family. One thing led to the other, we were introduced to my cousins husband, who works for vivint, and before we knew it we were on a plane headed to Alaska for summer sales.

Coulton and I were able to go through the temple together to receive our endowments and be sealed together for time and all eternity. What an unbelievable experience that was. I have never felt so right about something in my entire life (other than marrying coulton :)). So grateful I was able to do that and be a part of this church.

Some other pretty significant things happened this year as well. My best friend of almost ten years got married. It's been so amazing to see her journey and be a part of her life on such an intimate level. We've been through so much together, and she's been through so much alone, that it was truly amazing to see her marry the man of her dreams, and ultimately, the man she deserves. I've never been so proud.

Also, my Grandma Hofheins passed away. What a sweet lady heaven gained, and what an awesome reunion it must have been with my Grandpa. I think about her often, in fact, not a day goes by that I don't think of her. She and I became closer this past year, because she was so adamant in making my doll. She would call me and ask me several questions about my dress and I cherish those moments forever. She was always interested in my life, particularly my dating life, and she was extremely proud of me for bringing my husband into the church, and with that, marrying such a stud! I miss you Grandma, but I'm so glad you are in the perfect state your body was craving so long for.

I'm sure there is tons I am leaving out, but those moments are the ones that popped out in my mind. I'm so excited for the years to come with Coulton. He is truly my soulmate.

Here are some photo's :)

Here's the whole fam at the temple right after our sealing. What a great family I have eh?

I forgot to mention that Coulton and I were able to spend Christmas in California with his Grandparents and all of his cousins. It was a BLAST!! Napa California is BEAUTIFUL! Looking forward to many more Christmas' to come.

I also forgot to mention that we were both able to work for a company called Run Or Dye, which is a Color 5k where people throw chalk and you leave looking like a tie dye shirt! It was pretty fun, while it lasted :)

My BFF and her boo. They are the cutest arent they?

Look at that smile. She's the best.

And...here is Alaska! So freakin pretty! I'm excited to just explore every inch of this place!

Needless to say, I have been pretty blessed. So grateful for all thats come my way, and all that is going to come :) LOVE LOVE LOVE!
